Can a Catholic question authority?

Surely one can question authority. But let it not be out of morbid curiosity or a mere gratified skepticism. Moreover, St. Paul supports, thus, " Do not quench the Spirit,   do not despise prophesying,   but test everything; hold fast what is good,   abstain from every form of evil" (1 Thessalonians:19-22).  As a rule, when a Catholic questions, they should be attentive to the content of the question, the direction in which the question is directed, how the question is posed, and the surrounding circumstance.  To merely suppress questions is not good for the human heart.
